At this special fall event in Cupertino (with many Apple employees in the audience), Steve Jobs demoed Apple's next OS, Mac OS 9, before introducting the new iMac DV line of desktop computers, and iMovie, Apple's desktop video editing software, which he thought at the time would be the computer industry's "next big thing" (it ended up being digital music via Napsters/MP3s instead).
