Steve Jobs takes medical leave of absence for an undetermined amount of time

17 Jan 2011 | in Steve Jobs history, Steve Jobs news

Team,

At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health. I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company.

I have asked Tim Cook to be responsible for all of Apple’s day to day operations. I have great confidence that Tim and the rest of the executive management team will do a terrific job executing the exciting plans we have in place for 2011.

I love Apple so much and hope to be back as soon as I can. In the meantime, my family and I would deeply appreciate respect for our privacy.

Steve

Words fail me.

While taking a MBA course, one of my assignments was to complete a paper on Steve Jobs’ leadership style. I enjoyed every piece of material on Jobs. I found him to be an excellent person that has a lot of drive and you have great leadership skills. Yeah, there were times when he was disliked but that’s life. He’s a great example of a great leader. Steve, I only pray that your health improves and wish you the very best!

I am praying for you Mr. Jobs, may God grant you grace and His mercies!

  • It’s a shame that Apple needs to operate without him. Hopefully they’ll get along fine. Their earnings just came out and they blew away expectations.

Steve Jobs is my hero. Mr. Jobs and Mr. Wozniak are the progenitors of every piece of personal technology in existence. All we have today has descended from Mr.Jobs’ innovations and creations. His vision spawned light speed and radical social changes leading us to a true global community.

My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family for his speedy recovery. We need you Steve!

“om mani padme hum” this is a religious curse we believe would save us from all sufferings, and to reach to a peaceful state of mind and soul.

may our prayers be heard…. all the best, steve.
